New Year goals not Resolutions

This year I'm not making New Year Resolutions.  I'm making goals, goals that are attainable, yes you can still fail at them but I feel like if you make it a goal then you are more apt to attain the goal.  Here is a list:

1.  Exercise at least 3 times a week.  It doesn't matter if its 10 mins or 30 mins, I just need to get moving.

2.  I would like to lose at least 10 lbs by March 17.  It will be a bit of a challenge as I'm having surgery sometime in between now and then, but it I watch my diet and at least walk if nothing else it should be attainable.

3.  No more fat talk.  My kids and husband think I'm beautiful so that is all that matters.

4.  I would like to spend less time on facebook and games when my kids and husband are with me so I can make sure they get the quality time that they deserve with me and have my full attention.

5.  Keep a cleaner house.  I think this will be more possible since I'm now a stay at home mommy and have more time keeping up with the daily chores.

6.  Cook healthy meals for my family every night that is possible.

I'm sure I have more goals but can't think of them right now.

Happy New Year to you and yours.  I hope you all have a happy, healthy, and prosperous new year!!

Stay at Home mommy!

Today was my 1st day as a stay at home mommy!  Both of our kids are in school, but with all their activities and them not being at the age to stay home alone Shelby and I feel that the time has come that I stay home and be here for them when they need me.  I can go to all of their activities and I don't have to ask anyone if I can.  I want to be at all of their events and this will make it easier for that to happen.

I'm ready to get myself into some kind of at home routine as soon as this week is over!  We have been busy running back and forth to Enid for the Emmanuel Baptist Church's 40th Christmas Pageant that the kids are in.

More later....

1-10-12 A cook emerges!

Lately I have been in the mood to cook.  I've been cooking my family dinner every evening that I've been home.  For a change they are getting home cooked meals.  I think they like it, and I enjoy doing it!  Today I made the Pioneer woman's roast and carrots and her creamy mashed potatoes!  I really liked her mashed potatoes.  They are delicious.  Before the roast though, I thought I wanted to bake some desert for them too.  I found her recipe for the best ever chocolate sheet cake.. It is for sure heavenly!

The cake before I snagged the 1st piece.  I mean really what kind of cook would I be if I didn't try my food before I served it!!!
And then, me working off those extra calories from the cake I just had to have!!! It was worth every calorie!

Have I mentioned I LOVE being home more now!!!

1-9-12 Bright Sunshiny day!!

It's a bright, bright sunshiny day!  Who would even think it was January unless you already knew.  This weather has been so mild this Winter.  It has been nice to be outside in short sleeves or just a light jacket.  It's nice to be able to get outside and let this little fellow run off some of his energy, and let me tell you he has a lot of energy!  He wants to follow him around on his bike so I can watch him.  He races around the house faster than I can keep up.  He loves being outside and riding his many wheeled toys.  His favorite is his cars bike.  It's been nice to stay home and play with him and enjoy him!  Both of my kids for that matter!

Can you tell he is ornery?

Jesus Calling

This is a very good devotional that I am reading daily this year.  I have never really been good about reading a daily devotional and saw this one and thought it looked good.  The author wrote this as if in each daily devotion Jesus is talking directly to you!  It is very good and each day so far I can relate with what I am reading!  It's so good that I actually can't wait to read the next days devotion.  If you haven't ever read this devotional I would highly recommend it to you!

1-7-12 Cousins and American Girl Dolls

After dance today I picked up Jaedyn and Mya to bring them to Mema's house to play.  Jaedyn and Mya got an American Girl doll for Christmas and Summer has had her for a few months.  The girls always make sure that when they see each other that they bring their dolls so they can play with them.  Summer and Jaedyn played with the dolls for quite awhile.  Mema even asked if she could call Kael and tell him they were all there and Jaedyn said not for a few hours were playing dolls.  They played very nice and even shared the doll clothes with each other.

 Summer busy dressing her doll!

Jaedyn wanted no part of the pictures.  She kept telling me to get out!

1-6-12 Facetime with daddy!

Today I worked late.  I didn't get home until about 7:30  When I got home the kids were just lounging around waiting on me.  Summer was watching a movie on our television and she thought it was funny that I was going to take a picture of her.

Then daddy called us from his ipad.  My phone has facetime and so does his ipad so we can call each other using facetime while he is away and the kids and I are still able to see him and he is able to see us.  The kids really like to be able to do this and it helps them not miss him quite as much.
Here they are both talking to him.  Gunnar likes to hog the phone when he sees daddy on it and he moves it around like crazy and makes daddy get sea sick lol.
This last picture makes me laugh.  Every night Gunnar finds something in his room that he does not want in there while he is sleeping.  Tonight it was all of his shoes!  The bag and tractor were from the night before!!
