Motivation

Today I'm at work and here my text message sound goes off on my phone, I look and it's Shelby telling me that Summer was able to do 10 minutes on the elliptical. Yesterday she was telling her daddy how much longer she could go then me. So today after work I came home ate supper and decided it was time to get on the elliptical. My little cheerleader (Summer), came in to watch and I just had to show her that I could make it 10 minutes also. She kept saying how much longer mom, are you going to make it. She is such a funny little girl.

Then I have decided it would be good to take a cool down walk afterwards and have been walking up our dirt road. Today she went with me and we got to have a little girl time together. On the way Summer showed me up and jogged the whole way. Until, we get to the top of the hill and a see a SKUNK!!!! I yelled for her to not move any further as the skunk had his tail up as if it was going to spray. I kept watch and had her run down the hill to me. Luckily we didn't get sprayed. The rest of the way home we just talked and visited about lots of different things and she asked if she could walk with me every night. Of course she can. It was something that we can do together to have some girl time.

After our walk, we came back in and make a fruit smoothie. Banana (too much), peach, pineapple, apple, and apple juice. It was pretty good, but it could have used a little ice to make it colder or something.

We are trying to be healthy around here and with the motivation of my little princess I think we can keep up the good work!!! I even had the energy left to do the dishes. I'm feeling good so far!!!

Gotta get in shape!

Lately all I have been thinking about is getting an elliptical. I want to exercise but I am somewhat limited as to what exercise I can do. I wanted to be a runner but after 2 failed attempts of couch to 5k, I have found I must find a different means of exercise. It's not that I failed because I quit trying, no its because 2 times I have fracture my knee/leg in the same spot. You see I'm only 31 and have osteoporosis. I took meds for a year and thought my bones would be back to normal so I tried running again. Well not the best idea I ever had. Fracture that same knee/leg in the same spot. The Dr. told me I should never run again, unless being chased. He told me that swimming, walking and elliptical would be a good way for me to get exercise.

I have been looking at this one the past couple of months

So last night my wonderful husband took me to Enid to purchase it and then spent the whole evening putting it together for me. He sure does spoil me.

So tonight when I got home from work, I used it for the very 1st time. I was only able to go about 7 minutes, but I'm sure I'll be able to gradually work up my time. Afterwards, I felt like I needed to do a little more so I walked about 1/2 mile. I turned around because I live in the middle of no where and I saw a truck sitting at the corner and got scared. lol

Now I think I will make a smart choice on my dinner and and eat a weight watchers meal.

Baby steps!!!!

Yuck!!

Today I was out feeding our horses and Barney our "old man" horse was eating. He started coughing so I decided that I should check on him. When I got up to him he smiled at me and BARFED all over me. Chucks of chewed up food everywhere. It was so disgusting. I was just going to go in and change clothes, but I looked in the mirror and it was even in my hair.
I wanted to make sure my clothes didn't stain so I immediately went in and washed them out and sprayed them down and I was thinking to my self, this shout sure does smell like cleaning spray. Sure enough I sprayed my clothes down with 409. What an evening.... Moral of the story.... Don't get to close to a coughing horse!!!

Day 6/My little Man!

Almost forgot my daily pic, so I grabbed a couple of shots of G-man playing in his room before bedtime. In the 2nd picture he was saying cheese at the camera. He's so precious to me!

Day 5, Welcome Princess

Today we welcomed in a new member to our family. Meet Princess!! Princess is 12 yrs old. She is a calm horse that is lazy and really doesn't like to work. Which is a plus for me, because I'm not comfortable enough yet to just take off on a horse. We are hoping that the addition of Princess will help Summer gain more confidence with Barney. We've had a few mishaps with Barney and it's kinda gotten Summer a little on edge. With having a second horse now Shelby or I can ride along side Summer.

Project 365 Day4

Tonight we watched the premiere of Live to Dance. We have a little mimic in our household. Anything you or anyone else does, Gunnar will mimic. The first picture is him just dancing, the 2nd is him trying to spin on his head like the kid was doing on TV. It's very cute to watch.

Grabbed this picture real quick of Summer and Gunnar playing. Summer likes to dress Gunnar up in pink. The other night she had him dressed in her princess dresses lol. I'm sure he won't appreciate this someday but it's too cute to pass up and its neat to watch the two of them to play together.

Project 365 Day 3/Time to Skype

Today I couldn't pick just one photo. We got an awesome Christmas gift this year. A new Imac. We just set up a skype account so we could skype with our family in OKC. Tonight the kids got to talk to Jackson, Elizabeth and Aunt Jen Jen. It was so cute to hear all the giggling going on. As you can tell in the pictures the kids were making silly faces at their cousins. Gunnar enjoyed it just as much as Summer. A little later they got to talk to their Grammie also.

Making Funny faces!!

So Exciting!!

Project 365/Day 2

I recently took up knitting and Summer requested she receive the first scarf. I had enough yarn left over so I decided to attempt a hat. I was very surprised and delighted that it actually turned out to be a hat. lol I didn't know if I would actually be able to accomplish that, but I did!!! It was fun. Here's a pic of Summer sporting her new duds.

Project 365 Day 1

I decided to join in on the Project 365 bandwagon so here is my first photo. Gunnar just loves his sister and likes to do whatever it is she is doing. We thought it was cute that he got up on the couch to lay by her. I didn't have my camera handy so I snapped this quick shot with my phone.

Happy New Year 2011!!!

Last night Shelby and I celebrated in style with the kiddos at home. I wouldn't have changed a thing though. Shelby, Summer and I played a game of Jenga and a few games of Just bake. Then we all celebrated new years by eating a cookie cake! Summer stayed up late 11:30 to watch NYC bring in the New Year. She said that was good enough for her. Shelby and I ended up staying up till midnight. Probably the 1st time in a few years. I wanted to make a list of new years resolutions. I normally don't do that but this year I want to!

Here they are:

1. Lose about 10-15 lbs
2. Get more exercise
3. Read more
4. Scrapbook more
5. Not to take things so for granted!
6. Do a daily bible study.
7. Don't text and drive.
8. Project 365

Thats about all I can think of right now. I hope you all have a very Happy and safe New Years.
Welcome to 2011!!!
